Domaine Xavier Monnot

Xavier Monnot is a leading producer based in Meursault, renowned for wines defined by purity of fruit, elegance, and complexity. The domaine’s roots extend back to 1723 through Xavier’s mother’s family, the Monniers, representing six generations of winegrowers in the Côte de Beaune.

After completing his oenological studies, Xavier Monnot took over the estate in 1994 and initiated a major renewal of both vineyard and cellar. Parcels were replanted using a combination of sélection massale from old vines and new clones, and the cellar was modernized to enhance precision. Formerly known as Domaine René Monnier, the estate entered a new chapter in 2005, when Xavier began bottling the wines under his own name.

Today, the domaine farms vineyards across Meursault, Puligny‑Montrachet, Volnay, Pommard, and Beaune, producing wines of clarity, balance, and finesse that combine immediate appeal with excellent aging potential—firmly establishing Xavier Monnot as a benchmark name in the Côte de Beaune.
